Midsummer has arrived, and half the year has passed. To alleviate the work pressure everyone experienced in the first half of the year and enhance collaboration and teamwork among team members, we conducted a lively and joyful mid-year team-building event on [August 23, 2025]. From well-planned fun games to collaborative team efforts, every moment was etched with our sweat and smiles, and every interaction brought warmth and strength to the team. Now, let's take a look back at this extraordinary team-building journey together!
A. Careful Planning: Fun Games Ignite a Vibrant Atmosphere
Our HR specialist, Wu Li (Sister Li), designed this team-building event to ensure that every member could actively participate and enjoy themselves. The game designs balanced fun, interactivity, and collaboration, with five classic game projects carefully selected to challenge everyone's enthusiasm and potential, from physical tests to tacit understanding exercises.
1. Ball-Squeezing Relay: A Dual Challenge of Speed and Balance
In the ball-squeezing relay, members were grouped into teams of five and had to use their bodies (waist or back) to hold a ball while racing from the starting line to the finish line without dropping it or touching it with their hands. As the referee gave the signal, each team quickly got into action—some moved cautiously and steadily, while others, with great, strode briskly. The scene was filled with cheers and applause. This game not only tested the balance and coordination between partners but also allowed everyone to feel the thrill of speed and excitement amid the intense competition.
2. Three-Legged Race: The Best Demonstration of Tacit Teamwork
"One, two! One, two!" The synchronized chant echoed across the venue, capturing the lively atmosphere of the three-legged race. Teams of three had their adjacent ankles tied together, with two groups per team facing each other to complete two 10-meter round trips. Initially, many teams stumbled due to mismatched steps, but they quickly adjusted their rhythm through communication and gradually found their rhythm. Some teams chanted slogans to synchronize their steps, while others exchanged signals through eye contact, ultimately crossing the finish line smoothly. This game made us deeply realize that only by thinking as one and working together can we overcome difficulties and achieve our goals.
3. Ring Toss: Joyful Moments from Childhood Memories
The ring toss game was undoubtedly one of the "sources of happiness" at this team-building event. Staff placed 10 traffic cones in the venue, and each team of 5 members stood outside a designated line, holding rings to aim and throw at the targets. The team with the highest cumulative number of successful throws won. Some members accurately landed the rings on the cones, cheering excitedly, while others, though missing, enjoyed the fun of the game with each attempt. The venue was filled with laughter, as if taking everyone back to their carefree childhood days.
4. Water Transport on Heads: Testing Patience and Team Trust
The water transport on heads game required members to balance a water bottle on their heads and walk from the starting point to the finish line without letting the water spill. Though it seemed simple, the game truly tested everyone's balance and patience. Some members moved forward cautiously and steadily, fearing the bottle might fall, while others gradually mastered the technique with encouragement and guidance from their teammates. When a teammate successfully transported the water to the finish line, everyone would applaud enthusiastically. This trust and support quietly strengthened the team's cohesion.
5. Team Ball Relay: The Ultimate Test of Unity
As the final game of this team-building event, the team ball relay required all five members to participate, using their hands to hold a semi-circular, arc-shaped long tube to transport a ping-pong ball from the starting point to the finish line. During the process, no one could touch the ball with their hands, nor could the ball be allowed to fall. Before the game began, each group quickly held a "tactical meeting" to discuss the best ball-transporting strategy. During the game, everyone had clear roles and worked closely together—some were responsible for placing the ball, some for passing the ping-pong ball, and others cheered and directed from the sidelines. Though minor mistakes inevitably occurred, no one gave up; instead, they quickly adjusted their approach and solved problems together. In the end, with the united effort of all members, every group successfully transported the ball into the basket. At that moment, the power of teamwork was fully demonstrated.
B. Moment of Glory: The Awards Ceremony and Dinner
As all the games concluded successfully, this team-building event welcomed its most anticipated moment of glory—the awards ceremony. To recognize outstanding teams and individuals in the games, the company carefully prepared cash prizes, with the boss personally attending to present the awards, pushing the atmosphere to its peak.
During the ceremony, the boss first congratulated the successful hosting of this team-building activity and highly commended everyone’s enthusiasm and teamwork spirit shown throughout. He mentioned, "From the mutual cooperation in the games to the support for one another in times of difficulty, I have seen the most precious aspect of our team. This cohesion is not just what we’ve gained from the team-building; it is the key strength to overcome challenges in our future work."
Finally, the boss addressed all members again: "I hope everyone can bring the enthusiasm and默契 (tacit understanding) from this team-building into our work.
